Custom Heirloom Wedding Invitations


Fine Art Wedding Stationery... it's kind of what I do. No, really though. I've reduced the amount of services I offer to just one, Full Service Wedding Stationery, centered around Custom Wedding Invitations. So if you choose to work with me on your invitations, I will work with you throughout the entire process. I can design Save the Dates, place cards, custom thanks you notes, creative seating charts, you name it! This allows me to work with less couples per year, and give them the attention they deserve. I am your go to lady for all things art and paper, and I will take care of you! I take on a limited number of full stationery clients each wedding season.  These spaces do fill up before the year is out so be sure to inquire as soon as you know you'd like to work with me.

Custom stationery packages include one of a kind original artwork. So if you'd like a custom monogram or venue illustration, that's no problem! I am an experienced calligrapher, a watercolor artist, and an ink illustrator. All calligraphy and illustration is done by hand just for you, never to be reused on another client. Assembly and mailing services are always included, and elegant calligraphy guest addressing is, of course, available and encouraged. I can source bespoke handmade envelopes, and curate a collection of vintage stamps for those envelopes. I also work regularly with event designers, and am happy to incorporate their inspiration and color palettes into your custom wedding invitations for a cohesive design on your wedding day. 

My goal is to get to know you and your story, and I find so much joy in bringing these little details to life. My belief is that, if done well, your invitations will be a representation of you, will make your guests feel loved, and increase their anticipation of your wedding day. I will be here for you to answer any questions, provide inspiration, and to work hard to make your paper dreams a reality. All you need to do to get the process started is to fill out the Inquiry Form on the website.  My calendar fills up quickly, so be sure to inquire as soon as you can! Once you submit your inquiry, we will schedule a free consultation. I work mostly with brides and planners coordinating destination weddings. Many of these weddings are local to Northern Michigan, but several each year are in different states or countries. I usually hold my consultations via a video call so that we can get to know each other, and see if we might be a perfect fit! I love to hear about how my couples met, and what they are looking forward to the most about their wedding! I get so much inspiration from your venue and florals and just love talking about all of the details. A couple of key things you should know before we chat are your budget for wedding invitations, and your approximate guest count.  I will then create a custom proposal and Design Board for your project which will include inspiration imagery and a custom color palette.


The design and production process for a custom wedding invitation suite typically spans 8 weeks. Depending on when you prefer to send your invitations, we typically begin this process 4 or 5 months before your wedding, or sooner if I am also designing custom Save the Dates. I will gather the information from the previous stage, along with any additional inspiration provided to prepare your initial design proofs. The Design Board (provided earlier) specifies what colors, papers, and printing methods will be used. It will also be our guide to aesthetic direction, inspiration, and what bespoke details are involved. At times a sketch is supplied to provide a reference to layout of calligraphy and artwork. I love creating one of a kind artwork such as custom crests, and venue illustrations to set your invitations apart.

Next, you start to see your stationery come to life. I produce all of your custom artwork and calligraphy to create one of a kind designs that you will love, and your friends and family will be so elated to receive!


final touches

Once I have received everything back from the printer, it's time for the final assembly and envelope addressing! I will send you a proof of a calligraphed envelope for approval before all envelopes are inked. I will also weigh a completed suite and we will decide on postage. I include assembly and mailing services with every Custom Invitation Suite, so you don't have to worry about melting wax or making a trip to the post office. I get busy writing all of the pretty guest addresses, and assemble the paper pretties. I then hand everything over to my local post office or FedEx/UPS personally. 


Investment varies greatly by project. The type of paper, printing method, number of items in the set, and guest count all have a great impact. 

The minimum investment for Ciarra Claire Custom Invitations is currently $2,000. My Brides typically spend between $2,500-$6,000 on their Bespoke Wedding Invitation Suite to include specialty papers such as hand made paper with deckled edges, luxury printing such as letterpress or foil, and custom assembly details such as wax seals, and silk ribbon.

You will receive your 2 complimentary invitation suites in my signature keepsake linen box, lined with vintage velvet. These will be assembled, and calligraphed as you please. These are perfect for styling with your wedding day details for photos, and for sharing with family and friends years from now. In this very special package you will also find at least one piece of original art used for your wedding invitations.
