Custom Heirloom Wedding Invitations

With our Custom Stationery process you will work one on one with Ciarra to create beautiful and cohesive wedding stationery, that perfectly represent your story as a couple and builds anticipation for your wedding. These spaces do fill up before the year is out so be sure to inquire as soon as you know you'd like to work with us.

Ciarra is an experienced calligrapher, watercolor artist, and ink illustrator. So our custom stationery can include original, one of a kind illustrations tailored to you. But Custom stationery is more than just custom artwork, it is about the process as well. Ciarra will work with you, (and your planner) from mood boards and personal consultations to perfectly curated details. Assembly and mailing services can be included, and elegant calligraphy guest addressing is, of course, available and encouraged. She also works regularly with event designers, and is happy to incorporate their inspiration and color palettes into your custom wedding invitations for a cohesive design on your wedding day and in your wedding photography. When you choose full service packages including calligraphy guest addressing and mailing service, you will also receive two keepsake invitations suites in a velvet lined heirloom box. Perfect for wedding pictures and to preserve your stationery as a keepsake.

All you need to do to get the process started is to fill out the Inquiry Form .  Our calendar fills up quickly as we reserve our Custom Process to only a handful of clients each season. So be sure to inquire as soon as you can! Once you submit your inquiry we will schedule a free consultation. We work mostly with brides and planners coordinating destination weddings. Many of these weddings are local to Northern Michigan, but several each year are in different states or countries. We usually hold consultations via a video or phone call so that we can get to know each other, and see if we might be a perfect fit! A couple of key things you should know before we chat are your budget for wedding invitations, and your approximate guest count.  We will then create a custom proposal and Design Board for your project which will include inspiration imagery and a custom color palette.


The design and production process for a custom wedding invitation suite typically spans 9 weeks. Depending on when you prefer to send your invitations, we typically begin this process about 5 months before your wedding, or sooner if we am also designing custom Save the Dates. We will gather the information from the previous stage, along with any additional inspiration provided to prepare your initial design proofs.

Next, you start to see your stationery come to life. We produce all of your custom artwork and calligraphy to put together digital proofs of your stationery. We usually provide a few options and work though revisions until they are just perfect. This way you know exactly what you are ordering before anything goes into production.


final touches

Once we have received everything back from the printer, it's time for the final assembly and envelope addressing! We will send you a proof of a calligraphed envelope for approval before all envelopes are inked. I will also weigh a completed suite and we will decide on postage. We offer assembly and mailing services with every Custom Invitation Suite, so you don't have to worry about melting wax or making a trip to the post office. We get busy writing all of the pretty guest addresses, and assemble the paper pretties. We can mail the invitations directly to your guests and send you your keepsakes.


Investment varies greatly by project. The type of paper, printing method, number of items in the set, and guest count all have a great impact. 

The minimum investment for Ciarra Claire Custom Invitations is currently $3,000. Our Brides typically allocate a total stationery budget of anywhere from $5,000-$15,000 to include specialty papers such as hand made paper with deckled edges, luxury printing such as letterpress or foil, and custom assembly details such as wax seals, and silk ribbon. This also allows us to design Save the Dates, and provide Wedding Calligraphy and Day Of Stationery as needed.

When you select a full service custom package which includes calligraphy guest addressing and assembly, you will receive your 2 complimentary invitation suites in our signature keepsake linen box, lined with velvet. These will be assembled, and calligraphed as you please. These are perfect for styling with your wedding day details for photos, and for sharing with family and friends years from now. In this very special package you will also find at least one piece of original art used for your wedding invitations if applicable.
